Men's Lacrosse Prominent in 2017 MLL Supplemental Draft

PHILADELPHIA - Major League Lacrosse completed the 2017 MLL Supplemental Draft on Wednesday, Dec. 14, and four players with University of Pennsylvania ties were selected including three among the top 25 picks out of 115 overall.

Casey Ikeda, an assistant coach for the Quakers, was taken with the sixth overall pick to the Charlotte Hounds. The Hounds -- whose head coach, Jim Stagnitta, is the man Ikeda replaced on Penn’s staff -- also took 2016 Penn graduate and attackman Nick Doktor in the third round (24th pick).

Joe McCallion, a 2015 Penn graduate who played midfield and attack for the Quakers, was taken in the second round (17th overall) by the Ohio Machine, while Zack Losco -- a 2014 graduate who played midfield for the Quakers -- was selected in the eighth round (70th overall) by the New York Lizards.

Losco was a third-team USILA All-America his senior year at Penn, as well as a two-time first-team All-Ivy pick and Most Outstanding Player of the 2014 Ivy League Tournament that the Quakers won in Cambridge, Mass. Doktor was a two-time second-team All-Ivy pick who finished his career fourth on Penn’s all-time list in assists and seventh in all-time points, while McCallion received honorable mention All-Ivy his senior year.
