PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men's basketball team saw its streak of Friday Ivy League victories come to a crashing halt at The Palestra, as Ivy League co-leader Yale jumped all over the Quakers midway through the first half and they never recovered.

The final score was 75-48.

Penn got off to a decent start, and was up 10-8 when Tony Hicks broke ahead of the pack for a layup with 11:56 left in the first half. However, Yale took control for good with 16 of the game's next 18 points that gave the Bulldogs a 24-12 lead. The lead was 15 at the half, 38-23.

Yale picked up where it left off in the second half, starting the period with a 19-3 run that made the score 57-26.

At that point Penn head coach Jerome Allen completely replaced his lineup, going with Matt Poplawski, Sam Jones, Camryn Crocker, Greg Louis and Darien Nelson-Henry. They provided a spark, getting the Quakers as close as 23 points (65-42).

Hicks finished the night with 12 points, his 50th double-figure scoring game at Penn and team-leading 14th this season. Jones finished the night with nine points.

Yale, which shot a scintillating 12-of-22 from three-point land, had all five starters score at least seven points led by Javier Duren (13) and Jack Montague (12). Off the bench, Makai Mason ended up with a team-high 14 points.

Penn returns to action again on Saturday night, hosting Brown at 7 p.m.
