Joy De Jesús is in her seventh year at Penn and third as Executive Associate Athletic Director, Finance and Administration/CFO for the Division of Recreation and Intercollegiate Athletics in 2025-26. De Jesús arrived at Penn from Temple University, where she served as an Associate Vice President from 2013-19. She was previously the Senior Associate AD, Chief Financial Officer for four years before receiving her promotion in 2023.
De Jesús has oversight of financial planning, financial analysis, budgeting and accounting, human resources, information technology, facilities management, external operations, capital planning, and equipment operations. She is also the sport administrator for women's gymnastics. In addition, she has an external reporting line to the Associate Provost for Finance and Planning.
Prior to joining Penn, De Jesús was responsible for overseeing the finances of Temple’s facilities and operations units and provided supervision and strategic guidance to the Office of Parking Services, the Environmental Health and Radiation Safety department, the Office of Sustainability, Real Estate Administration, and WRTI 90.1. De Jesús has also worked in real estate development at Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust and Liberty Property Trust.
De Jesús played club rugby while earning her bachelor’s degree in literature from Harvard University. She earned a master’s in American studies from Brown University and an MBA from The Wharton School, with a concentration in real estate and finance.
