Jaysen Thompson Spring 26

Jaysen Thompson

Jaysen Thompson arrived in Philadelphia in January 2026, having most recently served as the defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator at the University of New Hampshire.

During the 2025 season, Thompson helped lead Justice Akinmoladun and Jordan Mcallister to All-CAA honors. Akinoladun played every game, starting in 12, led the Wildcats with seven sacks, and ranked second with 9.5 tackles for loss. Mcallister was one of UNH's top disruptors in the opponent's backfield with a team-high 11 tackles for loss and ranked second with 4.5 sacks. He also had three forced fumbles and two quarterback hurries.

Before his time in the Granite State, Thompson spent the two seasons at West Virginia, coaching First All-Big 12 honoree TJ Jackson and six other Mountaineers who earned All-Big 12 nods. Thompson helped WVU’s defense during the 2023 season, as they led the Big 12 conference in sacks en route to winning the Duke’s Mayo Bowl.

Thompson started his coaching career as the inside linebackers coach at his alma mater, AIC, in the spring of 2022, helping the Yellow Jackets prepare for opponents’ run game and pass protection for the 2022 campaign.

Thompson received his bachelor's degree in sports management in 2020 and an MBA from AIC in 2021 before earning a master’s degree in sports management at West Virginia in 2024.
