Former professional player Jared Donaldson joined the University of Pennsylvania men's tennis staff as a volunteer assistant coach in February 2023.

Donaldson, a Chepachet, Rhode Island native, reached a career-high ranking of 48 on the ATP World Tour in March 2018, and qualified for the ATP Next Gen in 2017.

His Grand Slam results include reaching the third round of singles at the 2016 US Open and 2017 Wimbledon; he also reached the second round of the 2018 French Open. In all, he reached the main draw at 10 grand slam events from 2014 through 2018.
 
He reached the singles quarterfinals of a Masters tournament for the first time at the 2017 Cincinnati Masters. The following year, he reached his first ATP event semifinal at the 2018 Mexican Open, which earned him the No. 48 ranking.

As a professional, he held wins over Grand Slam finalists Stefanos Tsitsipas and Marcos Baghdatis, as well as Grand Slam semifinalists Lucas Pouille, Diego Schwartzman, and Roberto Bautista Agut, all of whom are former Top 10 players in the world.

Donaldson, 26, is also studying economics at Penn.
