Alyssa Bert joined the University of Pennsylvania volleyball staff as an assistant coach in June 2025.
Bert came to University City after a year working with the Syracuse (N.Y.) Volleyball Club, where she coached the club’s Girls’ 16-1 team in 2024-25. She also has experience coaching at Cicero-North Syracuse High School and the NORCO Volleyball Club in Loveland, Colo.
A native of Oklahoma City, Okla., Bert started her college career at Colorado State before transferring to Syracuse and finishing as a graduate student with the Orange. She played in every set for the Orange her last two years and led them in digs her final season. Bert also was a nominee for SU's prestigious Doris Soladay Award and earned all-tournament honors at Michigan State's Kathy DeBoer Invitational in 2023. At CSU, Bert was a part of two Mountain West championship teams and helped the Rams to the NCAA Tournament as a freshman.
Bert earned a bachelor’s degree in early childhood/childhood education from Colorado State, before earning her master’s in teaching & curriculum at Syracuse’s School of Education. At CSU, she was a three-time Mountain West Academic All-Conference selection as well as a three-time MWC Scholar-Athlete.
