Alison Barahona joined the athletic training staff at Penn in October 2025.
Barahona came to Penn after three years at Santa Clara University where she worked with the Broncos’ women’s tennis, men’s soccer, softball and women’s beach volleyball teams. Prior to that, she spent the 2021-22 academic year at South Shore High School in Hanover, Mass.
Barahona also has relevant clinical experience working with Northeastern Sports Medicine, Empowering Athletes LLC, and Home Base Veteran and Family Care.
Barahona—who grew up in nearby Yardley, Pa.—earned her bachelor’s degree in kinesiology with a minor in biology at George Mason University, swimming for the Patriots and competing all four years at the Atlantic 10 Championships. She then earned a Master of Science in Athletic Training at Boston University where she was secretary of the BU Society for Athletic Training Students.
Barahona has been a National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) member since 2021 and is certified in CPR/AED and dry needling.
