Two-time NCAA All-American Dan Vallimont will serve as Interim Assistant Coach with Penn Wrestling during the 2017-18 season.
 
Vallimont has had an exceptional career at both the NCAA and Olympic levels. He reached the NCAA Finals in 2010 for Penn State, and was third in 2008. Over his four trips to the NCAA Championships, he never finished lower than the Round of 12. He also was a member of the 2014 US World Cup Freestyle Team, and competed in the 2016 Olympic Trials in Iowa City, Iowa.
 
Dan's coaching experience includes six years as an assistant coach and head assistant at EIWA foe Hofstra. At Hofstra, Dan was responsible for all aspects of the program including team training, recruiting, and program management.
 
A native of Lake Hopatcong, N.J., Vallimont recorded a 110-36 mark during his collegiate career with the Nittany Lions. A team captain in 2008-09 and 2009-10, Vallimont placed second at the 2010 NCAA Division I Championships at 165 pounds and finishing the season with a 30-9 mark. As a sophomore, he finished third at the 2008 NCAA Championships at 157 pounds and posted a 32-3 record.
 
Vallimont, who graduated from Penn State in 2010 with a degree in architectural engineering, was a two-time New Jersey state champion at Jefferson Township High School in Oak Ridge, N.J. A three-year team captain and a four-year member of the National Honor Society, he posted a 134-9 career record in high school.
