A former head coach at the NCAA Division 3 level, Trish Cipicchio just finished her first year as an assistant coach on the University of Pennsylvania softball staff in 2018.

Cipicchio came to Penn from Hamilton (N.Y.) College, where she was head coach of the softball team for four years and finished her tenure second in all-time wins in the process. Under Cipicchio’s lead, the Continentals achieved their highest batting average in 15 years and set team records for hits, runs, and home runs in a season.

With the University of Pennsylvania, Cipicchio helped lead the Quakers to No. 39 in the nation in batting average (.297) and a No. 37 ranking in stolen bases per game (4/2). The Red and Blue's .297 batting average was its 4th highest since 2004.

Prior to her stint at Hamilton, Cipicchio helped lead Williams College to 16 wins as an assistant coach in 2013. The Ephs finished 7-5 and tied for second place in the NESCAC West Division standings. Before that, she was an assistant coach at Smith College in 2012.

A four-year starter at second base and shortstop for Trinity College from 2007-10, Cipicchio was also a team captain and made the NESCAC Spring All-Academic Team her senior year. She started all but one game during her Trinity career and ended her career with 97 hits including 10 home runs.

The Quakers assistant earned her undergraduate degree in neuroscience and music and also obtained a master’s degree from Smith in 2013. She hails from Southmont, N.C., and was a three-sport athlete at East Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte. Cipicchio is also currently attending Penn as she is working to get her M.S.E in bioengineering.
