- Made seven appearances during his freshman outdoor season, exclusively in the javelin throw.
- Won the USATF U20 Championship (June 23) with a career-best mark of 77.15m.
- Placed 17th in the javelin with a mark of 66.67m at the NCAA Div. Outdoor Track & Field Championships (June 8).
- Qualified for the NCAA Championships with an eighth-place finish at the NCAA East Region Preliminary (May 25) with a mark of 67.35m.
- Captured the Ivy League Outdoor Heps Championship (May 5) in the javelin.
- Finished second in the 125th running of the Penn Relays (April 27).
- Also won at the 92nd Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays (March 30) with a mark of 70.16m.
