Mike Bartomioli recently completed his first year as an assistant coach with the University of Pennsylvania men’s lacrosse program, after being the Director of Lacrosse Operations for the men’s and women’s programs for the 2015 and 2017 seasons.
A youthful Penn squad finished 8-7 in Bartomioli's first year as an assistant coach, with six of the losses coming to teams that finished the regular season in the USILA Top 20 including No. 1 Maryland, No. 3 Yale (twice, both by a goal) and No. 4 Brown. Two Penn players shared the Ivy League Rookie of the Year award -- attackman Simon Mathias and goalie Reed Junkin -- while sophomore Connor Keating led five All-Ivy players, earning first-team honors after leading the nation in long-stick scoring.
Prior to his arrival at Penn, Bartomioli worked for four years with No Limits Lacrosse, Inc., as well as Showtime Lacrosse, Inc. As the No Limits’ Director of Events, he oversaw the administration and coordination of several events including the No Limit Lacrosse Camps, the Maverik Big Time and Top Rank Tournaments, the No Limit/Lax It Up Fall Lacrosse Clinics, and the No Limit Jupiter Holiday Camp. With Showtime, he oversaw the administration and coordination of the Maverik Showtime National Recruiting Spotlight for four years for both boys and girls. Bartomioli also spent several months as a Metro Tri-State representative for Bauer Performance Sports/Cascade Maverik Lacrosse in late 2014.
As a player, Bartomioli began his college career at Providence College, where he played two years of lacrosse and earned the Team Character Award. He then transferred to the University of Michigan, where he was a part of two Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) club championship teams with the Wolverines. Bartomioli received UM’s Rookie of the Year award in 2009 and its Commitment/Citizenship Award in 2010, and was a two-time all-conference selection.
Bartomioli spent the 2011 season as an assistant coach with the University of Florida’s club program, and was an assistant coach at John Jay High School in Katonah, N.Y., from 2012-14.
Bartomioli graduated from Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in sport management, and earned a Master’s of Science in Sport Management at Florida.
