Kris Saulny joined the University of Pennsylvania men's basketball program as an assistant coach in June of 2022.

In Saulny's first season on the Quakers' staff, junior Jordan Dingle was named Player of the Year by the Ivy League, the Philadelphia Big 5, and the ECAC. Penn finished third in the Ivy League, a game behind co-champions Princeton and Yale, then fell to the Tigers in an Ivy Tournament semifinal. In his second season, Clark Slajchert became the program's 42nd 1,000-point scorer and earned first-team All-Ivy honors and Penn defeated a ranked opponent for the first time since 2018, a 76-72 win over then-No. 21 Villanova at The Palestra.

Saulny came to Penn after spending the 2021-22 season as a graduate assistant coach at George Washington University, working primarily with the Buff & Blue’s defense. Prior to that, he spent two years at Division III California Lutheran University.

A D.C. native, Saulny played his collegiate basketball at nearby Widener University where he earned his degree in Business Administration Management and Marketing. Saulny is currently pursuing a master’s certificate in Management and has completed a Quantitative Business Foundations certificate.
