Rachel Stauffer recently completed her second year as an assistant coach with the field hockey program after joining the program in July of 2018. She came to the Quakers after spending the 2017 season as an assistant coach at Swarthmore College. In 2016, she was an assistant at Colby College.
“Rachel brings an electric and contagious energy to her coaching,” said Penn’s head coach, Colleen Fink, at the time of Stauffer’s hire. “She will mesh very well with the team culture and aligns perfectly to our program’s mission and vision. Rachel is passionate about learning all she can to become the best coach possible. I am personally excited to work with her and having her contribute to our team’s success.”
Stauffer played her college field hockey at Indiana University, finishing her career with 11 goals and seven assists for 29 points. As a senior, she led the Hoosiers to a program record for Big Ten victories (5) while finishing among the IU leaders in goals, points and shot percentage. Stauffer—who grew up in Ephrata, Pa., a little more than an hour outside of Philadelphia—also was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten recipient and was a field hockey team representative on Indiana’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
