Pete Renda

Pete Renda was hired in June 2018 and enters his second year as an assistant coach with the University of Pennsylvania wrestling program in 2019-20. 
 
Renda helped coach two NCAA Championships qualifiers, five All-Ivy performers and one EIWA champion during his first year on staff with the Quakers.
 
A three-time captain at N.C. State, Renda helped the Wolfpack earn its best team finish ever at the NCAA Championships in 2018 with 80 points and Renda earning a pair of wins en route to a 23-3 record for the year. Renda was a four-time NCAA qualifier, twice at 174 and twice at 184, and earned All-America honors in 2016 with a third-place finish at 184. In 2018, Renda won the 184 title at the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Championships; he also was an All-ACC honoree in 2016.
 
Prior to attending N.C. State, Renda wrestled for Brandywine Heights (PA) High School and had a 162-22 career record there, including a 42-0 mark as a senior when he was the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) 2A state champion at 170 pounds. Also the 2013 FloNationals champion at 170 pounds, in 2012 Renda was a PIAA state finalist at 152 pounds.
 
Renda earned a B.S. degree in finance from N.C. State in the spring of 2017 and is currently pursuing a Masters in Economics.
