Meredith Henze joined the University of Pennsylvania as an Assistant Athletic Trainer in May 2016.
 
Prior to Penn, Henze spent the 2015-16 academic year as an intern athletic trainer at Brown University where she was primarily responsible for women's volleyball and the women's rugby team’s spring season. Before that, she worked as an athletic training student at Rutgers University with spring football and wrestling as well as at Seton Hall University—her alma mater—with women's soccer, women's volleyball, and men's and women's basketball.
 
Henze was a four-year member of the Seton Hall softball team, serving as a team captain her senior year and earning recognition as a Big East Academic All-Star (four times) and a National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar Athlete (two times). A member of SHU’s chapter of the national student-athlete honor society Chi Alpha Sigma, Henze graduated cam laude with a bachelor’s degree in Biology, and in 2015 she received her Master of Science in Athletic Training. As a grad student, Henze was awarded the University’s Nicholas Deprospo Award for outstanding service. During her time at Penn, Henze has continued her education with the Penn Athletics Wharton Leadership Academy, Penn Athletics/Department of Positive Psychology Training, and the University’s STEP UP Leadership certification.
 
Henze is a National Athletic Trainer Association (NATA) member. A Certified Athletic Trainer by the Board of Certification (BOC), she also is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Henze also is certified as a Professional Rescuer in CPR and AED from the American Heart Association in addition to Stop The Bleed.
