TOMMY LASORDA FIELD AT MEIKLEJOHN STADIUM

Built as Murphy Field prior to the 2000 season, the facility was renamed to Meiklejohn Stadium in 2006. The stadium was renamed for William Meiklejohn W'42 and his wife Louise, longtime supporters of Penn Athletics and the University of Pennsylvania.

The 850-seat ballpark contains VIP seating area and excellent sight lines. Families and fans can relax at the O’Malley Family Park, located right outside the stadium, where they can enjoy a picnic lunch during afternoon doubleheaders. An enclosed press box sits behind home plate. The split structure features one side dedicated to statisticians, scoreboard operators, announcers and members of the game operations staff. The other side is wired specifically for the broadcast team. Meiklejohn Stadium is 380 feet to straightaway center and 330 to both right and left field.

In 2021, the Penn Baseball community finished raising more then $5,000,000, including the full $2,050,000 to hit the goal of the Warren Lichtenstein, C'87 match challenge. With those funds, the playing surface and surrounding area was fully renovated and by February 2023 and was named Tommy Lasorda Field at Meiklejohn Stadium in honor of Lichtenstein's good friend and the Baseball Hall of Fame manager of the Dodgers from Norristown, Pa. Renovations included a fully-turfed field, renovated dugouts, a re-orientation of the field, updated protective netting surrounding the field, and a pitchers development area.
