PHILADELPHIA – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced its 2025-26 All-Academic Teams and Scholar-Athletes on Monday, July 13. The University of Pennsylvania men's and women's tennis programs were honored as ITA All-Academic teams, while 18 Quakers—11 men, seven women—were recognized with ITA Scholar-Athletes Award honors.
The men's team was represented by
Parashar Bharadwaj,
Luka Butera,
Nischal Spurling,
Sanjeev Chundu,
Shaurya Bharadwaj,
Matthew Rutter,
Aaron Sandler,
Stephan Gershfeld,
Justin Chung,
Manfredi Graziani, and
Vojtech Vales. On the women's side,
Lara Stojanovski,
Varsha Vedula,
Liza Tkachenko,
Sasha Motlagh,
Esha Velaga,
Sarah Wang, and
Maya Urata earned the prestigious honor.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale) among the student-athletes who are listed on the institutional eligibility form. All varsity letter winners were factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
In order to be named ITA Scholar-Athlete, a player must have a grade-point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and be listed on his/her school's institutional eligibility form.
