*The Quakers' offense was led by junior outfielder Gavin Degnan, who went 2-for-4 at the plate with five RBIs and a run scored.

*Jay Secretarski (2-3), Gavin Collins (2-3) and Ernie Echevarria (2-3) all logged two hits in Wednesday's matchup, while driving in four runs between the trio.

*Michael Powell (1), Nick Spaventa (1), Jarrett Pokrovsky (1), Ryan Taylor (1), and Nick Guachione (1) accounted for the remainder of Penn's 13 hits.

*Freshman Ben Moulin (1-1) earned the start on the mound and claimed the first win of his collegiate career with two strikeouts. The Red and Blue threw five different arms on Wednesday and Thomas Egbert paced the hosts with three strikeouts.

How It Happened
Moulin surrendered a walk against his first batter, but the San Clemente, Calif. native retired the next three Mountain Hawks.

Penn wasted no time in the first inning, taking a 2-0 lead. There were two runners on first and second when Secretarski was walked and Collins was hit by a pitch. Spaventa started the day in the three spot and his single to right field loaded the bases for the hosts. The first run of the day was scored on a balk, which saw Secretarski cross home plate. Degnan was next up and his sac fly to left field brought home Collins to make it a 2-0 ballgame.

Brandon Coughlin escaped the inning for Lehigh by retiring the Quakers' next two hitters.

Ian Wirtz got Lehigh going with a leadoff double to begin the second frame, but the visitors' time at the plate was short-lived as Moulin sent Max Dantoni, Ryan Davis and Silvio Giardina back to the dugout.

The Quakers tacked on three more runs in the bottom of the second inning. Penn's first two batters were retired by Noah Gyauch-Quirk, but Powell got the bats rolling with a single to right field. The sophomore later advanced to second on a wild pitch and was sent home thanks to a Secretarski RBI single to center field. After back-to-back walks, Shane O'Neill took over on the hill for the Mountain Hawks.

Degnan kept the sticks hot with a single that squeaked by the third baseman, allowing Secretarski and Collins to score.

Egbert took the mound to start the third inning and escaped a bases loaded situation when Caderyn Ahearn grounded out to first base. Ahearn is the brother of Quaker catcher Qwynn Ahearn.

Penn added another run in third, which started with a single up the middle by Echevarria. The Miami, Fla. native eventually made his way to third after a series of wild pitches and then scored courtesy of another Secretarski RBI single.

Egbert registered two strikeouts in the top of the fourth inning to send Lehigh back to the dugout in 1-2-3 order. Reliever David Andolina responded by striking out the side to send Wednesday's action to the fifth.

Freshman left-hander Luke Pokrovsky made his fifth appearance of the season to begin the fifth inning, and had a nice start, striking out the first hitter he faced. Aidan Quinn responded with a double to left field, and the visitors put a run on the board when Owen Walewander ripped an RBI single to shortstop.

Taylor drew a leadoff walk in the bottom of the fifth inning for the Red and Blue and eventually made his way to third. The second baseman quickly scored when Echevarria recorded a base knock to left field.

Lehigh scored its second run of the outing in the sixth inning, but the Quakers dominated with eight runs in the frame. Pokrovsky, Taylor, Guachione, Powell, Collins, Spaventa and Degnan (2) all claimed an RBI or more to hand Penn a 15-2 lead.

Senior right-hander John Cerwinski closed out the day on the bump for the hosts and didn't allow a hit in his second appearance of the year.
