Georgetown was able to match a few minutes later with a goal by Molly Davies as both teams found offensive success early on.
Penn was able to capitalize on a turnover and foul by the Hoyas a little over halfway through the first quarter as
Regan O'Brien converted on the free position opportunity.
However, the Hoyas responded once again as Gracie Driggs found the back of the net on the free position, tying the game at two a piece.
Just two minutes later, Georgetown found themselves with the lead as Molly Byrne put the Hoyas up 3-2 with under two minutes left in the opening quarter.
After giving up back-to-back goals, the Quakers ended the opening quarter with another goal coming from the free position as the game was tied 3-3 heading into the second period.
Both teams continued to battle in the opening minutes of the second quarter as they traded goals just five minutes in.
Georgetown then went on another run and took a two point lead with eight minutes left til halftime as the Quakers began to lose momentum.
But Sack would not allow her team to fall behind for much longer as she scored her second goal of the contest and cut the Hoya lead back to one midway through the second quarter.
The Hoya offense continued to stay hot as they responded with another pair of back-to-back goals as the Quakers faced their largest deficit of three with under five minutes left.
Avery Le and
Catherine Berkery helped propel the Quakers back into the game just a few minutes later as they continued to cut into the lead.
But Georgetown ended the half with their ninth goal of the contest as they took a 9-7 lead into the locker room.
Both teams quieted down offensively to begin the second half as both defenses stepped up after talking things over at halftime.
The Quakers got on the board first in the second half as Berkery scored her second goal and cut the Georgetown lead to one with nine minutes left in the third.
Eight minutes went by with no goals scored by either team until Sophia Loschert found the back of the net to put Georgetown up 10-8 at the end of the third period.
The Quakers entered the fourth quarter after failing to score in the final nine minutes of the third as the offense went cold and had run out of momentum.
But the Red and Blue mustered up every ounce of fight that they had left in them as they refused to surrender.
Berkery kicked off the final period with her third goal of the day as she brought the Quakers to within a goal.
A few minutes later, she scored again out of a Penn timeout as the game was tied up at ten with under nine minutes.
