PRINCETON, N.J. — The University of Pennsylvania women's tennis team defeated Dartmouth in the first round of the ECAC Indoor Championship on Friday, 4-3.
Dartmouth took two out of three doubles matches against the Quakers, as the Big Green took a 1-0 lead.
The lone doubles win for the Red and Blue was by the pairing of
Varsha Vedula and
Lara Stojanovski as they won, 6-3.
The Quakers were exceptional in singles, winning four out of six matches.
Vedula stole the show for Penn as the freshman won the final match of the day, clinching the win for the Quakers as they advanced in the winner's bracket of the tournament to take on #3 Columbia tomorrow.
The match will begin at 5 p.m.
