PHILADELPHIA — The University of Pennsylvania women's tennis team swept Lehigh on Saturday morning at the Hecht Tennis Center, 7-0.
The Quakers snapped their two-game losing streak for their sixth win of the season, and their fourth at home.
Penn took two of three doubles to start off the match as the pairings of
Sasha Motlagh and
Liza Tkachenko, and
Lara Stojanovski and
Varsha Vedula put the Quakers up 1-0.
Freshman
Joleen Saw got the first singles victory for the Red and Blue as she "double bageled" her opponent in the three spot.
Lara Stojanovski followed with another dominant win for Penn as she won her first match at the top of the singles lineup this year.
Then
Sarah Wang won her first singles match of the spring as she bageled her opponent in the first set and won 6-2 in the second.
Varsha Vedula,
Liza Tkachenko and
Maya Urata rounded out the 7-0 sweep for the Quakers as Penn recorded its third sweep of the spring.
