PRINCETON, N.J. – The University of Pennsylvania finished Day 3 of the Ivy League Championships, with sophomore
Watson Nguyen highlighting the day by taking home the gold in the 100 breaststroke.
Not only did Nguyen bring home Penn's first top finish of the men's championships, he also set the Princeton DeNunzio pool record in the event with a 51.18. The time also represents a new program best. Nguyen was not the only Penn swimmer to have a good day, as junior
Peter Whittington placed second in the 400 IM with a time of 3:43.62. Senior
James Curreri collected a top ten finish as well, placing ninth with a 1:34.95 in the 200 free.
The Quakers will look to keep the momentum going into the final day of the championships tomorrow.
