PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women's tennis team remain at home to host the 29
th Cissie Leary Invitational. The team will face athletes from St. Joe's, Princeton, Temple, and Lafayette.
The invitational will take place at the Hamlin (outdoor) and Hecht (indoor) Tennis Centers.
With multiple matches taking place simultaneously and several teams competing at once, coaches will determine individual player matchups and ladder positions on the day of competition. As a result, specific lineups will not be finalized ahead of the event.

*Five Quakers earned singles victories on Friday, with
Joleen Saw,
Liza Tkachenko, and
Varsha Vedula among those picking up wins.
*In doubles, Saw, Tkachenko, and Vedula each earned victories with their respective partners.
*Saw added another singles win on Saturday, defeating William & Mary's Alexia Gonzalez-Galino, 7-5, 0-6, 6-4.

*Penn had a strong three-day showing at the Penn Invitational, earning victories in both singles and doubles against West Virginia and Drexel throughout the weekend.

Emma Tomova and Tkachenko were among Penn's most consistent performers, each collecting multiple singles and doubles victories while helping the Quakers maintain momentum throughout the tournament.
*First-year
Cookie Jarvis-Tredgett made an immediate impact, earning her first collegiate singles victory on Day One after coming back from a first-set loss. She followed it with another singles win over Drexel on the final day.

Peien Deng also earned her first collegiate doubles victory with Tkachenko on Day Two before securing her first singles win on Day Three in an exciting 11-9 deciding tiebreaker.
*The Red and Blue closed the weekend on a strong note, sweeping all three of its doubles matches against Drexel and adding four singles victories, giving the Quakers positive momentum heading into their upcoming competition.
