PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women's tennis team added their third win of the season, defeating 33rd street rival Drexel on Saturday, 6-1.
The Quakers fell behind early, dropping two out of three doubles matches, but went on to sweep the Dragons in singles.
The pairing of
Lara Stojanovski and
Varsha Vedula recorded the lone doubles win for the Quakers, negating the sweep by the Dragons.
Esha Velaga added another victory to her resume, defeating Lorie Lemongo in the #1 spot.
Maya Urata,
Lara Stojanovski, and
Joleen Saw also won their singles matches in two sets.
Liza Tkachenko and
Varsha Vedula dropped one set each, but came away with victories.
