PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men's and women's squash teams continue their seasons this weekend on the road at Columbia on Friday and Cornell on Saturday.
The men's team will look to get back to their winning ways after dropping their last two matches. The women's team aims to continue to remain undefeated and become the first team in the country to get to double digit wins.

The Quakers return to team competition after sending five players from both the men's and women's teams to the CSA Individual championships last week. Senior captain of the women's team,
Franka Vidovic advanced all the way to the quarterfinals but fell to #1 seed and eventual champion, Zeina Zein. Senior captain of the men's team,
Omar Hafez won all five of his matches and was crowned the 2026 Pool Trophy winner for the sixth time in program history. Hafez joined teammate
Salman Khalil, who won last year, as the first back-to-back national champions in program history. Hafez is tied with teammate
Zane Patel with seven wins for the Red and Blue this season.
Previewing the Lions
The Lady Lions have gotten off to a tough start to the season, losing five of their first six matches. Columbia was swept by Harvard and lost 5-4 to Dartmouth in their last two matches. Isha Gupta leads the team with four wins on the season, Kaavya has three. Nourin Khalifa has started in the #1 position in the last three matches, going 1-2.
The seventh ranked men's squad has begun the season with a 4-2 record and have won two of the last three matches. Yusuf Sheikh has five wins this season, all coming in the first position. Paarth Ambani has also totaled five wins on the year, with no losses. The team has gone 2-1 at home so far this season.
Previewing the Big Red
The women's team is ranked seventh in the latest CSA rankings, getting off to a 5-3 start to begin the year. Cornell had won two in a row before losing to #1 Harvard in their last match. Yee Xin Ying has four wins in the first position for the Big Red this season. Alysa Ali and Maya Voloshin have posted the most wins on the team thus far both with identical 5-2 records.
The 10th ranked men's team have lost four straight after starting the season 4-1. Syan Singh and Youssef Sarhan have both won five matches in the first and second positions respectively. Vivaan Shah has the most wins on the team with six. The last win for the Big Red came on November 23 vs. Tufts, 6-3. The team is 2-2 at home this season.
