PHILADELPHIA – The nationally ranked University of Pennsylvania wrestling team rings in 2026 this weekend, heading to the Southern Scuffle hosted by UT Chattanooga Saturday, Jan. 3, and Sunday, Jan. 4.

The Field
American, Appalachian State, Army, Bellarmine, Brown, Campbell, The Citadel, Clarion, Cornell, Davidson, Duke, Gardner-Webb, Little Rock, Maryland, Michigan State, Morgan State, Navy, N.C. State, North Dakota State, Northern Colorado, Oklahoma State, Penn State, Presbyterian, Utah Valley, Virginia,  and Virginia Tech will join the Quakers and the Mocs in the Volunteer State.

*The Quakers will compete in the Southern Scuffle tournament for the first time in program history this weekend.
 
*Penn closed out 2025 against Virginia, overcoming the Hoos 24-16 in the Palestra to shift to 3-0 in dual action.
 
*Evan Mougalian (133) pushed the Red and Blue to victory over the Hoos, getting a first-period pin over Kyle Montaperto with two matches to go.
 
*Davis Motyka (125), CJ Composto (141), Cross Wasilewski (149), Sean Seefeldt (165), and Caden Bellis (174) also won their matches to help lead the Quakers to victory.
 
*Junior Mougalian was named Ivy League Wrestler of the Week this past Monday for the second time this season off his pin against UVA.
 
*Six Quakers sit in the Intermat and FloWrestling rankings, with sophomore Wasilewski leading the charge at #4 in the 149 field. #5 Composto, #13 Swisher (157), #13 Mougalian (133), #30 Motyka (125), and #31 Seefeldt (125) round out the Red and Blue in the rankings.
