PRINCETON, N.J. – The 13th-ranked University of Pennsylvania women's rowing team fell in all five races against No. 6 Princeton Saturday on Lake Carnegie. The Quakers came closest in the Varsity Fours race, where the Tigers nipped them at the finish line by a mere 2.2 seconds.

"We traveled to Princeton to race the defending Ivy League champion and we learned first-hand why they're ranked sixth in the country," said Penn's head coach,
Bill Manning. "Princeton raced extremely well and unfortunately our execution did not live up to our expectations or performances in practice, resulting in some disappointing outcomes.
"Our 1V4 performed best," he continued. "This lineup—C:
Ella Valencia, Stroke:
Sophia Pappano, 3:
Margot McAuliffe, 2:
Jordan Reed, Bow:
Natasha Kobelsky—stuck close to their opponent all the way down the race course and finished only two seconds behind. The 3V8 also raced well and matched Princeton's speed for most of the race after a tough start.
"We have two weeks until the all-important Ivy League Championships. Our focus remains on continued improvement in practice and better execution of what we've done well in practice on race day."
