Heavyweights Make Every Grand Final at EARC Sprints

WORCESTER, Mass. – The University of Pennsylvania men's heavyweight crew's depth was on display Sunday at the EARC Sprints, as the Quakers made the grand final in all five boats on Lake Quinsigamond. As a result, the Quakers finished fifth in the Rowe Cup standings for total team points behind Harvard, Princeton, Dartmouth and Yale.

Penn's top two boats fell just shy of their pre-race seeding with sixth-place finishes on the day, the Varsity Eight falling just shy in a great final that saw all six boats cross the line a little more than five seconds apart with less than two seconds separating third place from sixth. The Third and Fourth Varsity Eights met their seeds by finishing fifth and the Fifth Varsity Eight placed fourth in its Grand Final on Sunday afternoon.
