PHILADELPHIA –
The nationally ranked University of Pennsylvania women's lacrosse team fell on Senior Day at Franklin Field on Saturday afternoon, dropping a 10-9 contest in four overtimse against #8 Yale.
Yale went on a four-goal run that stretched from the third to the fourth halves to help force overtime and win its third Ivy League battle against #13 Penn.
Anna Brandt was an offensive force for the Quakers, tallying four points, including a first-half hat trick.

How It Happened
Following shots taken on both sides, midfielder Brandt made her way down the stretch to register the first board of the day at the 11:26 mark. After a free position shot, Brandt added another to the board later in the quarter to double Penn's lead. Attacker Chung snuck one past Yale goalkeeper Niamh Pfaff with two seconds left to end the quarter to push the Quakers' lead to 3-0.
The Red and Blue kept the momentum going as attacker Block drained a goal 39 seconds into the second quarter. At the 11:24 mark, the Bulldogs registered their first goal from Fallon Vaughn to put the game at 4-1.
Catherine Berkery and Chung retaliated with back-to-back goals to keep a steady lead at 6-1 midway through the second. With 27 seconds left, Yale's Ashley Newman scored the final goal of the quarter to push the score to 6-2 going into halftime.
Freshman Marotta netted the first goal of her career to open the second half and extend Penn's lead to five goals. Midway through the quarter, Yale's Jenna Collignon tallied back-to-back goals to slice the hole to three with 6:39 left of the third. Freshman Docking and Yale's Sky Carrasquillo exchanged goals as the quarter started to wind down. Ultimately, The Bulldogs' Megan Kitagawa scored with 1:21 left to cut the deficit to 8-6 heading into the fourth.
Yale exploded with two more goals to open the fourth to tie the game at eight with 8:11 left of regulation. However, senior Block fought back to put the Quakers ahead with 6:45 on the clock, but Yale's Caroline Burt evened the score at nine to finish out regulation.
Goalkeeper Sedransk stood on her head in the first overtime, saving two huge shots to end the first three minutes. After six fierce minutes of action, neither team could find the back of the net to force a third period. Ultimately, Yale took the battle 10-9 with 12 seconds left of the fourth overtime.
