#5 Women's Squash Sweeps Dartmouth; Set to Face #4 Stanford Friday

PHILADELPHIA— The No. 5 University of Pennsylvania women's squash team opened the CSA National Team Championship tournament with a commanding win over No. 12 Dartmouth. With the 9-0 sweep, the Quakers move on to the quarterfinal round against No. 4 Stanford tomorrow.

The Quakers looked sharp from the beginning today, with Malak Khafagy, Yoshna Singh, and Allie Stoddard taking charge in the first wave. Khafagy and Singh swept their opponents 3-0, needing only 17 minutes and 19 minutes respectively to complete their matches. Stoddard took four games to secure the win, but her match was still relatively short, taking just 31 minutes.

The second wave took the courts, picking up where the first wave left off. Three-game victories from Hailey Wong and captain Jana Dweek secured the match for the Red and Blue, punching their ticket to the quarterfinal round tomorrow. Savannah Ingledew battled through five games for her win, closing out the second wave with sweep intact moving into the third wave.

Natasha Pensler opened wave three with a three-game win, adding another point for Penn after only 15 minutes on the court. Ashna Tumuluri finished next, sweeping her opponent in 17 minutes. Sohaila Ismail took the court for Quakers, defeating her opponent in the final match to complete the 9-0 sweep.
