#1 Men's Squash Dominates #6 Harvard

CAMBRIDGE, MASS.— The University of Pennsylvania men's and women's squash teams earned split results in matches at Harvard this afternoon.

The top-ranked men's squash team took down No. 6 Harvard with a dominant 8-1 finish, while the fourth-ranked women fell to No. 3 Harvard 6-3.

On the men's side, Nick Spizzirri and Abdelrahman Dweek had the longest matches of the day. Both playing the full five games to secure their victories, their endurance was tested as Spizzirri played a total of 74 minutes, while Dweek played for 70 minutes. Captain Dweek was among the first to take the court for the Quakers, setting the tone early for his teammates.

Co-captain Roger Baddour, along with Varun Chitturi, Dana Santry, Nathan Kueh, Marwan Abdelsalam, and national individual champion Salman Khalil all followed his lead and came out of their matches victorious. Spizzirri, among the last to take the court, showed no quit as he closed out the match the same way that Dweek opened it.

The women fell behind in their match early, despite a commanding victory from freshman Malak Khafagy in the number one spot. Sohaila Ismail took her match to five games, two of them going to extra points. Despite her ferocity on the court, she ultimately fell to Lucie Stefanoni after 53 minutes of play.

The Red and Blue fell to the Crimson, but not without late victories from Yoshna Singh and Hailey Wong. Singh, battling for 49 minutes, secured her victory in five games, one of which went to extra points. Wong fell in the first game of her match, but battled back to win the next three in 41 minutes.
