PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania's
Maya Urata fell in the first round of the ITA East Sectional Championships to Theadora Rabman of North Carolina (0-6, 0-6).
Rabman, the preseason No. 12 ranked singles player in the country, put her full talents on display in the match as she led for the entirety of the first set.
Urata held brief leads in the first and third games of the second set but could not come away with any points.
While Urata's NCAA hopes are gone, she will play in a consolation match against Anastasia Sysoeva of Syracuse University.
Rabman will advance to the next round to face Daniela Piani of the University of South Carolina.
