PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women's tennis star Esha Velaga will compete in the 2025 NCAA Division 1 Women's Singles Championships held in Orlando, Fla. this week.
 
Velaga's first round match will take place tomorrow Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 2 p.m. against Luciana Perry of Ohio State.
 
Perry, a two-time singles All-American, was ranked #5 in the ITA singles preseason rankings, which lists the best singles players in the country.
 
Velaga was ranked #78 on the list, the highest ranking in the Ivy League. 
 
Both players are experienced as they will be making their third NCAA appearances of their careers.

Velaga is coming off a singles championship in the ITA Northeast Regional, her second in the last three seasons.
 
The winner of the match will take on either California's Mao Mushika or Charlotte's Ni Xi in the next round. 
 
The round of 32 will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 19.
