The Penn vs. Harvard Series
*The Quakers hold the all-time lead in the series, bringing a 41-39-5 record into this weekend's conference battle.
*The Red and Blue left Cambridge with a 1-0 win last year, powered by a goal in the 52nd minute from
Stas Korzeniowski. The Crimson only recorded two shots on goal in the match, with
Phillip Falcon III stopping both.
Quaker Notemeal
*Penn was busy last week, closing out its four-game homestand with a 3-0 win over Villanova before opening Ivy League play at Columbia with a 2-2 draw.
*In Tuesday's Philly Soccer Six victory, defender
Oliver Pratt scored the game-winning goal in the first minute of action. Sophomore
Romeo Dahlen secured the match with a pair of goals to post his second brace of the season.
*Keeper Falcon worked hard to capture his second shutout of the year, tying his career-high five saves to keep the Wildcats off the board.
*In Sunday's Ivy League opener in the Big Apple, the Quakers went back and forth with the Lions as
Patrick Cayelli evened the game in the 20th minute, while
Jack Wagoner headed in his second of the year to open the second half to push Penn ahead 2-1. Ultimately, Columbia tied the match with 20 minutes to go, giving both teams a point in the Ivy League contest.
*Junior
George Herbert tallied his first point wearing the Red and Blue in the battle at Columbia, assisting on Cayelli's goal.
*Senior Cayelli leads Penn in assists (5) and points (11) to pair with his trio of goals on the year. The midfielder is first among the Ivies with 11 points and shots on goal (12).
*Sophomore Dahlen leads not only Quakers but also the Ivy League with four goals, tallying two braces against Loyola Maryland and Villanova.
*Keeper Falcon looks to build off his stellar sophomore season, being named a USC Goalkeeper to Watch. Falcon led the Ivy League in goals-against average (.840) and shutouts (9) while posting a .795 save percentage. The goalkeeper won four consecutive Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week honors, the most in conference history.
Scouting the Crimson
*Harvard brings a two-game skid to University City this weekend, falling 3-2 to Boston University on Tuesday night and 1-0 to Princeton last weekend.
*Andres Savva leads the Crimson with three goals and eight points, while Ben Kelly has dished out a team-high four goals.
*The Quakers will likely face Lucian Wood in the box on Saturday night. The goalkeeper holds a 1.20 goals-against average and 0.769 save percentage.
