Quaker Notemeal
The No. 1 Quakers return to team play after a competitive weekend at the 2025 CSA Individual Championship in New York this past weekend. Represented by Marwan Abdelsalam, Nick Spizzirri, Omar Hafez, and Salman Khalil, the Red and Blue made up four of the eight total quarterfinalists in the main bracket. Omar Hafez and Salman Khalil competed against each other in the final, only the third time in the tournament's history that Penn represented both finalists. Salman Khalil came out on top, marking the first time in 46 years that a Quaker has earned the individual champion title.
Prior to the tournament, Penn sat 13-0 overall on the season and 3-0 in Ivy-League play. The team dominated both No. 8 Columbia and No. 9 Cornell, despite varying lineups in those matchups. With fantastic roster depth that now includes a national champion and several nationally ranked players, the Quakers feel confident and ready for the weekend ahead.
Previewing the Crimson
Harvard enters the weekend at 3-1 in conference play, with their sole Ivy-League loss coming from No. 3 Yale the weekend prior to the 2025 CSA Individual Championship. Against Top 10 opponents, the Crimson are 3-3, all their losses against programs ranked within the Top 5 in the country. Over the last five years, the Crimson have beaten the Quakers in four of their six meetings. Penn hopes to repeat last year's victory and begin to even out the matchup's win-to-loss ratio.
Previewing the Big Green
Dartmouth enters the weekend searching for their first conference win of the season. Currently 0-4 in Ivy-League play, Dartmouth faces No. 2 Princeton on Saturday before hosting the Quakers on Sunday. Since 2014, the Red and Blue have owned this matchup, winning all ten of their meetings in that time.
