PHILADELPHIA—After more than a month since its match, the No. 3 the University of Pennsylvania women's squash team looks to open the 2025 calendar year strong in what is sure to be an intensely competitive weekend.
Penn hosts No. 2 Trinity on Saturday and No. 7 Yale on Sunday at the Penn Squash Center for the first weekend of competition for all three teams since December. As the Quakers prepare for the CSA Individual Championship tournament in a couple of weeks, these matches serve as important tests for the team.

Quaker Notemeal
In its last time out, Penn defeated No. 6 Virginia (7-2) with dominant performances from its key players to maintain an undefeated record on the season. With five of the country's top 10 players—Allie Stoddard (#1), Sohaila Ismail (#3), Yoshna Singh (#5), Malak Khafagy (#8), Franka Vidovic (#9)—on their roster, the Quakers are set for a good battle against two strong opponents. Stoddard, currently ranked as the No.1 women's squash athlete in the nation as a freshman, will be entering these matchups 6-0 on the year.
Previewing the Bantams
No. 2 Trinity has also earned an undefeated team record so far this season. The Bantams are led by Lujan Palacios, who is currently ranked tenth in the nation. At 4-0, the Trinity has proved dominant in this series over the last five years. Penn is hoping to earn its first win over the Bantams since 2017.
Previewing the Bulldogs
No. 7 Yale is entering the weekend at 2-1, with wins over No.10 Drexel and No. 13 Georgetown this season. The Bulldogs play their first Ivy League match on Saturday at Princeton before traveling south to face Penn on Sunday. Yale has consistently prevailed in the last five years, holding a 5-0 record in this long-standing rivalry. The Quakers are hoping to earn their first win over the Bulldogs since 2017 in their Ivy League opener.
