PHILADELPHIA – This past Sunday, the University of Pennsylvania sprint football team completed its third annual walk to raise awareness for Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG).
The team raised over $6,000 towards finding a cure for the disease. The walk started at the Philadelphia Art Museum and back to campus.
The Quakers walked in honor of Tim Moran's son, Nolan, passed away from DIPG on April 12, 2022. Tim was a former player of William R. Wagner Head Coach of Sprint Football
Jerry McConnell. The Moran Family joined the Red and Blue for the walk.
Two years ago, while Nolan was being treated in Philadelphia, Tim had the opportunity to meet with the sprint football team and the student-athletes became close with the Moran Family. The money raised from Sunday's walk will go towards research in Nolan's name.
