#11 Men’s Soccer Returns to Rhodes on Saturday to Host Manhattan

PHILADELPHIA – The #11 University of Pennsylvania men's soccer team returns home after a two-match road swing for a 5 p.m. contest with Manhattan on Saturday.

The Penn vs. Manhattan Series
*Similar to a few other matches this season, this is the first time these two teams will play each other in program history.
 
Quaker Notemeal
*The Quakers jumped four spots in this week's NCAA DI men's soccer rankings, landing just outside the top ten at #11.
 
*Penn went 1-1 to conclude its first road trip of the 2024 season, topping William and Mary 2-0 last Friday and falling 2-0 to VCU on Monday.
 
*Senior Stas Korzeniowski and sophomore Jack-Ryan Jeremiah netted the two goals in the Quakers' shutout over the Tribe. Korzeniowski's was his second-consecutive penalty kick goal, while Jeremiah's was his first collegiate goal.
 
*For the third straight week, goalkeeper Phillip Falcon III was named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week due to his performances in the bouts with Fordham and W&M. Falcon saved five of six shots faced in the matches, tying his career-high (3) against the Rams, and stopping a pair against the Tribe to earn his third clean sheet of the year.
 
*Sophomore Falcon leads the Ivy League in shutouts per game with his three clean sheets.
 
*Forward Korzeniowski currently sits second amongst the Ivies in shots (22), goals (4), and shots on goal (13), while senior Gaffney holds second in assists with three.
 
*Falcon and defender Leo Burney have had a strong presence in all five matches, playing the full 450 minutes.
 
Scouting the Jaspers
*Manhattan is coming off a 2-2 tie with #18 Fordham. Ziv Dahan and Ronan O'Brien netted the Jaspers' goals in the draw.
 
*Dahan leads the offense with three goals and seven points.
 
*Keeper Ludvig Malberg started in the crease in all six bouts for the Jaspers, docking a 1.50 goals-against average and .654 save percentage.
