IVY LEAGUE CHAMPS! Women’s T&F Claims Seventh Outdoor Heps Title, Wins Nine Races on Day 2

PRINCETON, N.J. – The University of Pennsylvania women's track and field program claimed its seventh Ivy League Heptagonal Outdoor Track and Field Championship on Sunday afternoon—and fourth in its last five seasons as both Quaker programs, women and men, tallied 11 titles—nine individual and two relay—on Day 2 to edge out host Princeton by a half a point.

With that, Penn has swept the 2023-24 season for track and field, winning both Indoor and Outdoor Heps titles for the first time since 2019 after doing it in 2018 as well.

The day culminated with a victory in the women's 4x400 race as Aliya Garozzo put together a terrific anchor leg to edge out the Tigers to secure the title.

On the women's side, Olivia Morganti (3000m steeplechase), Garozzo (100m, 400m hurdles), Isabella Whittaker (400m, 200m), Moforehan Abinusawa (100m), and Bronwyn Patterson (800m) picked up individual gold medals, while the 4x400 (Morayo Kassim, Jocelyn Niemiec, Amelia Kristen, and Garozzo) and 4x100 (Daniella Oyenuga, Whittaker, Abinusawa, and Caia Gelli) took home relay titles.

For the men, Shane Gardner (110m hurdles) and Ryan Matulonis (400m) won Ivy League individual titles to lead Penn to a third-place finish with 99.5 points.
