Volleyball Announces 2024 Schedule

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania's head volleyball coach, Meredith Schamun, has announced her program's 2024 schedule.

"We are excited for the matches we put together for this fall, showcasing our talent against some evenly matched opponents in our region," said Schamun, who has been the program's head coach since March of 2020. "I'm looking forward to starting on the road at Saint Francis, returning home to compete in The Palestra at our tournament, and then finishing up with a couple of single matches—one away, one at home—to round out the non-conference season. Those competitive matches will prepare us for a tough Ivy schedule, starting with the home-and-home against Princeton. This team has worked hard during the off-season and, with the addition of a strong incoming class, we are thrilled for them to hit the ground running when the 2024 season arrives."

Penn begins the 2024 campaign the weekend after Labor Day Weekend at Saint Francis (Pa.) for the Red Flash Classic, a round-robin tournament that will run Friday, Sept. 6 and Saturday, Sept. 7 and include Siena and Mercyhurst. The Quakers then play at Coppin State on Tuesday, Sept. 10 before coming home for their annual tournament, hosting Le Moyne, Manhattan and Morgan State on Friday, Sept. 13 and Saturday, Sept. 14.

Penn's non-conference slate concludes with a pair of one-off matches, the Quakers making the short trip to NJIT to meet the Highlanders on Tuesday, Sept. 17 before hosting the University of Rhode Island on Sunday, Sept. 22

The Ivy League season starts with a new twist, as Penn and travel partner Princeton will face each other in a home-and-home series on consecutive nights. The Quakers are at Old Nassau on Friday, Sept. 27 and then host the Tigers the following night at The Palestra.

That second Princeton match is the first of five in a row at home as Penn hosts Ivy champion Yale and Brown the weekend of October 4-5, then Dartmouth and Harvard the following weekend. The Quakers are back on the road for their next two Ivy weekends, sandwiching trips to the Empire State (October 18-19) and the southern New England swing (November 1-2) around a bye weekend.

Penn's final home matches will take place on Friday, Nov. 8 (Columbia) and Saturday, Nov. 9 (Cornell), before the Red and Blue make one final road trip to Harvard and Dartmouth on November 15-16. The top four Ivy teams from the regular season will advance to the Ivy League Tournament, which will run November 22-23 and be hosted by the regular-season champion.
