Louie Lands USFCA Foil Athlete of the Year

PHILADELPHIA – Bryce Louie of the nationally ranked University of Pennsylvania men's fencing team was named the 2024 United States Fencing Coaches Association (UFCA) Foil Athlete of the Year announced by the association on Monday morning.

Louie won the men's foil national title at the 2024 NCAA Fencing Championships and was named First Team All-American back in March to help land the prestigious award. The senior edged out 19 other fencers to win Penn's first individual title since 2013 and the first foil title since 1997.

The foil fencer also placed fifth at the 2024 Ivy League Fencing Championships this past February, garnering Second Team and Academic All-Ivy to account for the other honors that Louie earned this season.
