Track Teams Open Outdoor Season With Penn Challenge at Franklin Field

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania track and field programs return to Franklin Field this Friday and Saturday, opening the outdoor season by hosting and competing in the Penn Challenge. Start time is set for 2 p.m. on Friday (Heptathlon/Decathlon events). On Saturday, the Hep/Dec begins conclusion at 9 a.m., with the throwing events starting at 11 a.m., and the running and jumping events beginning at 12:30 p.m.

Penn's Last Time Out
The Quakers' wrapped up the indoor season two weekends ago with eight athletes at the NCAA Indoor Championships earlier this month. James Rhoads and Scott Toney earned first-team All-American after their fourth and fifth-place finish in the men's pole vault. The women's 4x400 relay team came in ninth narrowly missing out on the final.
 
Head Coach Steve Dolan was named Regional Women's Coach of the Year by the USTFCCA, his eighth such honor. Joe Klim, the assistant coach, was named Regional Men's Assistant Coach of the Year and Chene Townsend was named Regional Women's Assistant Coach of the Year.
