#7 Women’s Fencing Finishes First Day of NCAA Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The nationally ranked University of Pennsylvania women's fencing team finished the first day of the 2024 NCAA Fencing Championships hosted by Ohio State University on Thursday night.
 
Penn sits in 12th place with 23 points to end the first day of the tournament. Sabrina Cho, Grace Hu, and Katina Proestakis Ortiz represented the Red and Blue on the strips to account for the 23 points scored.
 
Senior Cho led the charge, finishing the day in ninth place in foil after winning nine bouts. Junior Proestakis Ortiz closely follows her teammate, landing 14th in foil off sevens wins.
 
Freshman Hu ended the first day at her NCAA Championships debut in 14th place in epee, winning seven bouts to highlight her outing.
