Gymnastics Closes Book on 2024 Regular Season With 195.450 at Rutgers

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The University of Pennsylvania gymnastics team concluded its regular-season schedule on Friday evening at Jersey Mike's Arena, scoring a 195.450 and placing second to host Rutgers (196.200), beating out Yale (194.000).
 
Penn had three event winners in Sophia Paris on bars, Samantha Wu on beam and Skyelar Kerico on the all-around.
 
BARS | Penn 48.900
The Quakers had a strong first rotation in the uneven bars, as Sophia Paris reeled off a 9.850 and Skyelar Kerico added a score of 9.800. Sara Kenefick tallied a 9.775, followed by Zara Gazdak (9.750) and Marissa Lassiter (9.725).
 
BEAM | Penn 48.600
It was another superb effort on balance beam for Samantha Wu, who recorded a team-high 9.850. Kerico followed Wu closely with a 9.775, while both Ana Kenefick and Campbell Marr brought home scores of 9.725.
 
FLOOR | Penn 49.000
For the fifth time this season, the Quakers recorded a 49.000 or higher. Sara Kenefick led the way with her 9.875, while Emma Davies scored a 9.850 with a 9.825 for Kerico. Zara Gazdak took home a mark of 9.775.
 
VAULT | Penn 48.950
Jordan Barrow ended the night with a 9.875 as the anchor on vault. Kiersten Belkoff scored a 9.850, followed by Lassiter with a 9.825. Isabel Song led things off with a score of 9.725.
 
Quaker Notemeal
*A victory over Yale marked the 20th win of the season for Penn, the second-most in a season in program history (22 in 2012).
*Jordan Barrow took second place on vault (9.875). Kiersten Belkoff placed third (9.850 and Marissa Lassiter finished fifth (9.825).
*Sophia Paris tied for first place on uneven bars (9.850).
*Samantha Wu took solo first on balance beam with a score of 9.850. Skyelar Kerico finished fifth (9.775).
*Sara Kenefick placed fourth on floor exercise with a mark of 9.875.
*Kerico secured the all-around crown with a total score of 39.075. Sara Kenefick placed third (38.800).
