Gymnastics Records Best Score In Two Years (196.050) Sunday at NC State

RALEIGH, N.C. – The University of Pennsylvania gymnastics team recorded its best score in nearly two years Sunday afternoon, scoring a 196.050 at No. 21 NC State.
 
The Quakers placed third in the four-team field, beating out Texas Woman's University (194.575), while the host Wolfpack took first place (197.375) with No. 23 Penn State placing second with a 197.000.
 
BARS | Penn 49.000
The Quakers tallied three 9.8s in their opening rotation with a 9.850 for Zara Gazdak and 9.800s for Sophia Paris and Skyelar Kerico. Marissa Lassiter and Jordan Barrow each scored a 9.775 with Sara Kenefick rounding out the lineup with a 9.750.
 
BEAM | Penn 49.025
Campbell Marr recorded a season-high 9.875 on balance beam, followed closely by Samantha Wu (9.825), Kiersten Belkoff (9.800) and Sara Kenefick (9.775). Ana Kenefick scored a 9.750 with Kerico registering a mark of 9.725.
 
FLOOR | Penn 49.225
It was a magical performance on the floor exercise for the whole lineup, but it was headlined by Kerico's career-high score of 9.900. Sara Kenefick had a 9.875 with Gazdak adding a 9.850 and Ana Kenefick a 9.825. Lassiter added a 9.775, while Emma Davies scored a 9.725.
 
VAULT | Penn 48.800
Isabel Song and Sara Kenefick led off Penn's final rotation with scores of 9.800 on vault. Lassiter and Belkoff had a 9.750 with Barrow finishing with a mark of 9.700.
 
Quaker Notemeal
*Penn tied a season-high score on bars with a 49.000. It was just .75 from tying its season-best mark on floor (49.300).
*Isabel Song and Sara Kenefick (9.800) finished in a four-way tie for 10th place on vault.
*Zara Gazdak was one of four gymnasts to tie for seventh place on uneven bars (9.850).
*Campbell Marr tied for fourth on balance beam with a score of 9.875. Samantha Wu tied for ninth (9.825).
*Skyelar Kerico finished in a three-way tie for second place on floor exercise with her 9.900. Sara Kenefick tied for fifth (9.875) with Gazdak tying for ninth (9.850).
