Ivy Title On The Line As #2 Men’s Squash Travels to #3 Princeton Saturday

PHILADELPHIA- After clinching at least, a share of the Ivy League title on Sunday, the second-ranked University of Pennsylvania men's squash team can secure the outright title with a win over third-ranked Princeton on Saturday.

Matches are slated to begin at 12:00 p.m., as the Tigers will host dual matches for the final time at Jadwin gymnasium.

Previewing Penn
The Quakers are 12-1 this season, including four 9-0 sweeps, and are a perfect 5-0 in league play. Penn has also earned seven wins against top-10 opponents.

Freshman, Varun Chitturi leads the team in wins and is 13-0, including five wins in Ivy play.  Last year's CSA (College Squash Association) first-team All-American, and first team All-Ivy honoree, Nathan Kueh, is 11-1 and is sixth all-time on the men's career wins list (47).

Dana Santry is 11-0, and Omar Hafez, last year's Ivy League Rookie of the Year, is 10-1 and 5-0 in league play. Rehan Luthra moved to 8-3, Nick Spizzirri is 8-1 and Abdelrahman Dweek is 7-3.

The Quakers split a pair of matches last weekend, a 7-2 win over fifth-ranked Yale on Saturday, and a 5-4 loss to top-ranked Trinity on Sunday. Spizzirri, Santry, Luthra and Chitturi all won twice this past weekend.

After losing to Penn on Saturday, Yale beat Princeton on Sunday which clinched at least a share of the Ivy League title for Penn. This is the fifth overall title and second in the last three seasons for the program.

Previewing the Tigers  
Princeton is 7-2, 4-1 in the Ivy League and 5-0 at home. The only two losses of the season for the Tigers came last weekend, after dropping a 6-3 battle to third-ranked Trinity, and a 7-2 loss to fifth-ranked Yale. Alastair Cho, Alhassan Khalil, Zain Ahmed Hollis Robertson and Gordon Lam were winners across the weekend.

Saturday's meeting will be the 103rd all-time between the Quakers and Tigers, as Princeton holds an 83-19 advantage in the series. The teams met once last season, where Penn earned the 8-1 victory. The Quakers are 8-2 in their last 10 matchups and have won the last five meetings.
