Gymnastics Posts 194.700 to Win Quad Meet at LIU

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The University of Pennsylvania gymnastics team rallied back to take the victory at LIU Saturday evening, scoring a 194.700 to best the Sharks, Brown and Cornell at the Pratt Recreation Center.
 
Skyelar Kerico and Sophia Paris earned a share of the uneven bars title, scoring matching marks of 9.825 to help the Quakers improve their overall record to 15-4 on the year.
 
BEAM | Penn 48.025
Campbell Marr had a strong effort on balance beam for the Quakers, scoring a 9.850. Samantha Wu was second with a 9.700.
 
FLOOR | Penn 49.225
The floor exercise was the highlight of the evening for Penn, as the Red and Blue tallied five scores of 9.8 or higher. Sara Kenefick and Emma Davies recorded matching scores of 9.875. It was a trio of 9.825 for Skyelar Kerico, Zara Gazdak and Marissa Lassiter and Ana Kenefick registered a 9.725.
 
VAULT | Penn 48.725
For a second straight meet, Kiersten Belkoff wowed the judges on vault with a team-high 9.800. Kerico and Jordan Barrow each scored a 9.750, while Gazdak added a 9.725.
 
BARS | Penn 48.725
Kerico and Sophia Paris posted identical scores of 9.825 to pace the Quakers. Gazdak tallied a 9.750 and Sara Kenefick added a 9.700.
 
Quaker Notemeal
*Kiersten Belkoff finished in a three-way tie for third place on vault (9.800). Jordan Barrow and Skyelar Kerico tied for sixth with a 9.750 and Zara Gazdak tied for 10th (9.725).
*Kerico and Sophia Paris took a piece of the uneven bars title with two others, scoring a 9.825. Gazdak tied for sixth (9.750).
*Campbell Marr tied for second on balance beam with a 9.850. Samantha Wu took ninth (9.700) alongside Cornell's Sydney Beers.
*Emma Davies and Sara Kenefick tied for fourth place on floor exercise (9.875). Marissa Lassiter, Kerico and Gazdak finished in a three-way tie for ninth (9.825).
*With an all-around score of 38.450, Kerico placed third.
 
Up Next
Penn will take on fellow Ancient Eight foes Brown, Cornell and Yale at the Ivy Classic at The Palestra next Saturday night, beginning at 6 p.m. The Quakers are looking for their first Ivy Classic title since 2020.
