Wrestling Wraps Up 2024 Competition at Midlands Championships This Weekend

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania wrestling team wraps up 2024 competition this weekend, heading to Northwestern for the Midlands Championships Dec. 29-30.

Quaker Notemeal
*The Quakers dominated the last time they hit the mats at Morgan State earlier in December, topping the Bears 34-6.
 
*Brady Pruett (125), Ryan Miller (133), Evan Mougalian (141), Cross Wasilewski (149), Jackson Dean (157), Reed Fullmer (165), Nick Incontrera (174), and Josh Labarbera (197) edged out their opponents to tally Penn's 34 points in the first dual victory of the 2024-25 campaign.
 
*Seven Quakers are ranked in the FloWrestling and Intermat top 32 of their weight classes, with senior Incontrera leading the charge as the #5 wrestler at 174. #11 CJ Composto (141), #15 Jude Swisher (157), #17 Gallagher, #19 Wasilewski, #22 Maximus Hale (184), and #32 Miller even out Penn's presence in the rankings.
 
*Head coach Roger Reina is one win away from 250. He will be the sole coach in program history to hit the milestone.
 
*The last time the Red and Blue competed at the Midlands Championships, Penn won the 2023 Midlands Championships team title for the first time in program history. Composto and Hale highlighted the Quakers, battling to the 141 and 184 finals.
