Amy Lanouette and
Riley Thomson each scored their first career goals.
Kylie Wall recorded her first assist of the season.
How It Happened
The first quarter saw two goals within a 40 second span. After a flurry of shots by Brown to start the contest, it was awarded a penalty stroke with 12:32 on the clock. Lucy Adams took it for the Bears and de Frees couldn't make the save.
On the ensuing Quaker push, they were awarded a penalty corner which
Courtney Kenah inserted. Kenah set up
Philine Klas for a shot which Loozen redirected for the goal.
The Red and Blue struck again halfway into the second quarter. Wall inserted a penalty corner to Thomson who ripped it past multiple Bears for her first goal.
Brown was aggressive coming out the break. It put up seven shots with no response from Penn. On their eighth shot of the third quarter, the Bears found the back of the net. Adams received the ball off the penalty corner insert which Kiersten Smith redirected for the goal.
Penn had three penalty corners in the last two minutes but couldn't score.
The Bears' offensive output continued into the fourth. Ninety seconds into the period, they would take the 3-2 lead off a Mia Karine Mykleburst goal. Three minutes later, Katie McCallum scored the eventually game-winner.
Penn cut the deficit with a little over a minute left. After five unsuccessful penalty corners, the Quakers' relentlessness led to a penalty stroke. Lanouette shot left and Brown goalie Kylee Del Monte dove right.
Unfortunately, the Quakers couldn't find the equalizer and finished their season with a 4-12 record, going 2-5 in Ivy play.
