PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania fencing programs return to the Tse Center for the first time of the 2024-25 season this weekend, hosting the Elite Invite on Saturday and Sunday.

*Penn opened the 2024-25 season at the Temple Open back in October, highlighted by
Bryce Louie grabbing the top spot in foil for the fourth straight year and freshman
Polina Kharchyna capturing silver in epee.
*Senior
Katina Proestakis Ortiz led the upperclassmen for the women, grabbing bronze in foil. The Red and Blue had five other top-ten finishes at the open, with
Talia Becker Calazans placing sixth in foil,
Grace Hu and
Victoria Kuznetsov both taking ninth in epee,
Amanda Li placing sixth in sabre, and
Vivian Lu finishing seventh in sabre.
*For the men, the Quakers were also highlighted by sophomores
Joseph Wu and
Nicholas Wu, who captured bronze in epee and foil.
Ben Kogan shined for the freshmen class, taking tied ninth in sabre in his first outing with the Red and Blue.
The Field
Penn will be joined by Air Force, Cleveland State, Columbia, Cornell, Duke, LIU, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Princeton, Stanford, Temple, and Yale at the Tse Center.
